Under the inspiring and capable leadership of Joy Feuer and the foundation Art from the Ashes, more than 40 artists gathered debris left after the Station Fire in Glendale, CA to use in artworks for a fundraising exhibition to restore the park. Bill and I missed the opening because we were traveling, but plan to visit the temporary gallery space today.  The City of Glendale allowed the foundation to use the new gallery space prepared for the Museum of Neon Art. The show is up until July 24th, Tues. - Sat. from 12 - 6  at this address:
216 S. Brand  Glendale, CA   Stop by and check it out!!

My husband, William F. Matthews, and I both donated two artworks to this important cause.
You can see my two small paintings (along with many others) on the exhibition Facebook, Art from the Ashes video.  See one of my paintings below, made with ashes from the site along with acrylic paint and mica flakes.

The artist residency in Vermont was a wonderful experience. Having full days to paint, surrounded by intelligent artists doing strong work was heaven!
